Hoder - the Blind Archer

Höder (Höðr ) is the brother of Balder in Nordic Mythology. Höder is blind but even so skilled at the use of all kinds of weapons. He is tricked by Loke to kill Balder with an arrow made of mistletoe. The mistletoe was the only thing that could harm Balder as everything else had promised Frigga not to hurt Balder. She missed to ask the mistletoe as it seemed so harmless.

Höðr tók mistiltein ok skaut at Baldri at tilvísun Loka.
Flaug skotit í gögnum hann ok fell hann dauðr til jarðar.
Ok hefir þat mest óhapp verit unnit með goðum ok mönnum.

Hödr took Mistletoe and shot at Baldr, being guided by Loki:
the shaft flew through Baldr, and he fell dead to the earth;
and that was the greatest mischance that has ever befallen among gods and men.

What is not told is the feelings of Höder when he learns that he has killed his brother.
