Asgard - Frej

Frej is the god of fertility. He is an important god in Asgard, but he is not an Asa god. He is one of the Vanir gods that came to Asgard as part of the peace between the Asa gods and the Vanir.

Frej is the brother of Freja.

Frej is especially important in Sweden. He is, it's said, the founder of an earlier Swedish royal family.

One day Frej saw a beautiful giantess, Gerd, and fell in love. But Gerd spurns him. For days Frej would not speak, sleep or drink. This is a picture of the lovesick Frej.
